Alex Crameri

Alex was awarded Life Membership in 1979 under the Presidency of Ralph Price.  Alex joined the club in the early years of the club and immediately became involved in the construction and maintenance of the lodge.

Alex was first elected to committee in 1956 and served as a general committee person, President (1958, 60 & 61), Vice President (1964 & 65) and Treasurer (1968 & 69) pretty much continuously until 1978.  He brought new members, juniors, into the club and introduced the Junior Ski programme.  Alex arranged the purchase of a bus off Hugh Serpell, specifically so that he could get the juniors up to Falls Creek.  He was Chief of the Course at Falls Creek and also for all the N.E.D.S.A. races.

Another Life Member (Dick Walpole) is quoted as saying “If it wasn’t for him, the club might not gbe going now.  It was down to eight members when he brought in the juniors, with the hope that, in time, they would become senior members.”
