Elaine was part of the group that ‘re-formed’ the club after the war. When the lodge was being built she and other ladies were there providing the food, cups of tea and a variety of other forms of support. The men building the lodge give Elaine and the other ladies in her group a great deal of the credit for the completion of the lodge so quickly as they were the ones always ‘cracking the whip’ and making sure that the work crew weren’t slacking off.
Elaine also served on the club committee from 1948 to 1952.
