John Robertson

John was made a Life Member (also in 1957) for services rendered to the club.  He served as Club Secretary from 1945 – 1956.  In 1957 he served as the Club President and then as Treasurer from 1958 -- 1967.  This means that John served on the committee for a total of 22 years.

From the 1940s until the 1970s Myrtleford Ski Club competed in interclub competitions, particularly the North Eastern District Ski Association (N.E.D.S.A) championships.  John was a competitive and well performed downhill skier and represented the club with distinction.  He gained many ‘podium’ results and also held several titles, most notably the 1956 Victorian Downhill Champion.  John was elected Vice Captain of the Australian team that visited New Zealand in 1956 and was Captain of the team in 1958.
