ANTICIPATION
I don’t know about you, but whenever I turn off at Ovens and head through Rosewhite towards Falls Creek, there’s always excitement in the air.
Dipping up and down through the fog, hoping for great snow and a sunny day, favourite tunes playing … it’s magic. Looking back over Happy Valley as you approach Mt Beauty, telling the kids the story of Cranky Charlie for the 100th time as you round that first big bend at the bottom of ‘the Hill’, arguing over who spotted the first snow, cursing the slow drivers who won’t pull over, the walk up the hill with too much food and gear… and then you’ve arrived. Hot, sweaty, puffing and ready for fun.

Yes, I’m ignoring the insane expense of it all, the car-sick child and the lottery of snow conditions in Australia. To grow up spending time in this majestic place, in our wonderful Lodge, with the terrific people in this Club — how very fortunate we are. I hope you are all looking forward to Winter 2026 at Myrtleford Ski Club.
Here’s to a great season ahead.

MAY WORKING BEE
We had a fantastic turnout for our recent working bee (we ran out of jobs to do!) and the Lodge is looking great in readiness for the season ahead. A huge thank you to all who attended – the McKinnon, Taylor, Giltrap, Piazza, Traini, Henderson, Robertson, Ferraro and Cairnduff families were all represented as well as the Committee and Club Managers.

All attendees from this working bee and the one in November were entered into a draw and the winner of a free weekend stay at the Lodge is… Ben Ferraro. Congratulations Ben!

OVERDUE INVOICES
There are quite a few unpaid invoices. All bookings MUST be paid for within 14 days or your booking will be cancelled. Please contact Dee (Treasurer) if you need to discuss this.

PLAY YOUR PART
Please remember that when staying at the Lodge, you have a set of assigned tasks. These are not only to be completed on departure, you are responsible for those tasks for the duration of your stay.

If you have children with you, please make an effort to assist with the common areas each day, in particular the TV room.

WINTER BOOKINGS AVAILABILITY
We still have capacity for more winter bookings. Please reach out to the Managers to enquire and note some key vacancies below. There is still one room available for race weekend at this stage.

Will and Mon will post any last-minute availability on the Club Facebook page during winter so please keep an eye out there.

MSC RACE WEEKEND
The Club Races event and Founder’s Cup will be held on August 29th. The theme is Icons of Winter… it’s time to get your outfits planned. More details to come.
